  • Artist Bio

Chris Hopkins, sole painter of the famed Tuskegee Airmen Exhibit currently on exhibit at the Museum of Flight in Seattle Washington, is busy developing ongoing traveling museum exhibitions and recording history in his unique style. A son of Pasadena, he was admitted to the Art Center College of Design with no prior experience in painting. Hopkins applied himself and eventually developed his own identifiable technique. After time served as an artist for the United States Air Force, he spent his career developing diverse subject matter including narrative pieces depicting the people of Thailand, Central America, the Middle East, and Borneo all of which has peaked the interest of museums throughout our nation. Most recently, it was a call from The White House that affirmed his rightful place among the notable contemporary artists of our time.

His work has been exhibited in museums including the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington; National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio; Burke Museum, University of Washington; Forest Lawn Museum Glendale, CA; Schack Art Center Everett, Washington. From May to July of 2014 he exhibited his Tuskigee Airmen artwork at the Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.
